Pebble Dashing
Pebbledash or Roughcast is a coarse plaster surface used on exterior walls that consists of lime and sometimes cement mixed with sand with small gravel and often pebbles or shells pressed in to the cement to secure the material. We mix the materials into a slurry to maintain an even spread, free from lumps to ensure the dashing lasts 10 years without any failure.
This practice has been around since the late 1700 and is becoming more popular again as the options of colors and shades of materials to use is ever growing. The application has been very popular with new extensions to bring the old and new togher to give a more seamless finish.
